French Taekwondo Master Visits Kumgang Taekwondo Center: A Step Toward Global Exchange

Guillaume Lopez, a Taekwondo master based in France, recently visited Kumgang Taekwondo Center in Korea, led by Master Byeogcheol An. This trip, which combined leisure and professional training, was driven by Lopez’s long-held desire to experience the birthplace of Taekwondo firsthand.

Lopez has dedicated many years to promoting Taekwondo in France, actively teaching a wide range of students—from children to adults. His journey to Korea marked a meaningful opportunity to gain fresh insights and inspiration from the origin of the martial art he has long embraced.

During his visit, Lopez participated in classes led by Master An, gaining hands-on experience and engaging in in-depth discussions about training methodology and philosophy. "I could feel the passion and depth of Korean Taekwondo firsthand," Lopez remarked, expressing his appreciation for the authentic and enriching experience. He noted that the training not only deepened his understanding of traditional Taekwondo values but also provided practical techniques applicable to his own teaching.

The Kumgang Taekwondo Center expressed gratitude for Lopez’s visit, saying, “We sincerely thank Master Lopez for his dedication to Taekwondo and for traveling all the way from France. We hope this visit will serve as the foundation for a more active exchange between Korean and French Taekwondo communities.”

Both parties are currently exploring ways to strengthen collaboration—such as instructor exchanges, student visits, and joint seminars—with the aim of fostering ongoing international cooperation in the years ahead.
